I haven’t felt like blogging lately. I’ve been swamped by getting our finances in order and setting all sorts of goals for the upcoming year.
I’ve found in the past, the best way to get back into blogging is to start. Someplace. Any place.
So here’s what I did over Christmas break:

For New Years we flew both babies (asdfjkl;!!!) to my parents mountain house in NC and spent a week with: my parents, little sister, little sister’s bf, my older sister, her husband, and their two boys.
This was the first time I’d seen my parents mountain house even though they built it a couple of years back. My mom has been dreaming and planning this thing FOREVER. She’s a real estate broker so she knew exactly what she wanted her future retirement home to be like. And it is stunning. Absolutely perfect! Every light fixture, hand rail, decoration, appliance, flooring….you name it….is perfect. The house is on 22 acres (?) in a valley. She and my aunts divided up the land and the aunts have since built their own homes and live up there permanently.

(Off to the left of my sister is my parent’s house)

The kids had a blast. My sister has two boys. Cole, the youngest of her two is the same size as Maddie and they spent the whole week following after one another and fighting over toys. Well, Maddie was fighting over toys and I was freaking out…I have no idea how to navigate these sharing and potty training waters she’s going into.
Christian spent the whole week watching every one and perfecting his squirmy army crawl (so cute).

My sister also brought her wii…oh my gosh that is so much fun! I totally want her iphone and her wii. Just like always….wanting what my big sister has ;). The difference now is, I can’t sneak it out of her room under my shirt. Well, I guess I could but that would be considered theft and I’m pretty much done with testing the law. Yep, this is going to be a jail free 2008.

That really is a beautiful place!
the house looks beautiful! we want a wii too. my brother just got one, and we love playing it.
Thanks for posting. I enjoyed seeing my wonderful grandchildren pics…oh yea it was great to see my kids pics too. What a wonderful holiday with family time, can’t wait to do it again. Remember, if your friends ask, we will rent the house by the week for others to enjoy. Love ya.
Oh dude, it’s so beautiful up there! I can’t wait until we get to go back. The plane ride was awful, yes, but next time maybe it’ll be easier.
Here here to a jail-free 2008!
It was fun to see Ashley in the pics. We live so close, and don’t talk. Funny how life works out, isn’t it?
